Ground Pork with Cabbage and Apples
Ground Pork with Cabbage and Apples
Mix the seasoning ingredients together. If quadrupling, use 2 teaspoons and save the rest for future recipes.
Mix seasoning into ground pork. Make sure it is evenly distributed.
Cook the ground pork in a large skillet, preferably cast iron, over medium heat until no longer pink, approximately 10 minutes.
Take the ground pork out of the pan and set aside.
Add the onion, garlic, and apples into the pan (No need to wipe out unless there is too much grease. You want some for cooking with.)
Cook the onions, garlic, and apples until everything starts to lightly brown, mixing occasionally. This will take approximately 10 minutes, depending on your skillet and stove.
Once the onion and apples are lightly browned, add in the cabbage and mix well to incorporate everything. It may seem like a lot of cabbage at first, but it will cook down. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until cabbage starts to wilt but is still bright green.
Add back in the ground pork and mix well. Cook another 3-5 minutes until pork is heated back up.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
Tastes great the next day warmed up with a fried egg on top!
