Last Day Joys: Fall Veggie Share Week #8 – 12/15/21
Last Day Joys!
Remember when you were a student and all the excitement you felt on the last day of school?
That’s me today!
Here I am putting together the last communication of the season – curating the last set of recipes, writing one last newsletter.
The packline order sheets are printed. Egg orders in. Donation arrangements made. Veggies are being washed and prepped in 200 count increments one last time.
I am even cleaning out my office! (Wow, so much dirtier and such a larger task than cleaning out a locker).
It will be 6 months until we pack the next member box. Six months until we run Sunday night order reports. Six months before the ‘white board of stress’ fills up with veggie share orders.
While we love doing the veggie shares (just like I loved school), it still feels pretty awesome to finally hang up the hat for the 2021 season.
We started seeding the first week of March. Here we are, 9.5 months later (hard not to notice the parallels with human gestation here), and a season is tucked in.
We had a great crew, a great growing year, and WONDERFUL member support in 2021. Feeling grateful. Feeling gleeful.
THANK YOU and cheers to a happy (snowy?!) winter.
Sincerely,
Farmer Cassie
