MIdseason Housecleaning Items: Summer Week #9: 8/6/25
Hello members! Wow I can’t believe it’s August already. This season is flying, and has been one of the most enjoyable I have had in years due to an AMAZING crew and overall awesome growing/working conditions!
As we are rounding up to half way through the summer veggie share, there is a laundry list of small things to share with members as questions and issues are arising! In no certain order:
Housecleaning List:
#1: Missing Items
Occasionally our volunteer pack line makes mistakes when it is packing orders. If this happens to you, please kindly let us know there’s been a mistake via email. (please don’t text my personal phone) I will forward this to Stephanie, my admin assistant, who will make sure you get a credit on your account to use in future weeks. We are seeing a slight increase of folks getting a little unfriendly about these mistakes. We urge you to read our newsletter about packline mistakes, entitled More Laughter, More Mistakes in hopes that this will help you put your packing error into perspective. Thanks!
#2: Extra Sales
As we get into the warm weather season, often we may have extras of corn, tomatoes, and peppers to share. We will offer these up via email. Our software can’t really handle these extra sales too easily, so I do this old school by hand, by check payment only. Prompt payment is appreciated!
#3: Friday Emails
A handful of folks (just 7 so far) have reported not receiving the Friday afternoon email letting members know it’s time to customize.I have reported this to the software company, however they are not seeing anything that’s making sense of why that may be happening for folks. If this happens to you, know that you can always sign into your farmigo account over the weekend to customize. The email just let’s you know when the ‘store’ is open, but you don’t need the email to go in and customize.
#4: Vacation Season
We are seeing an uptick of people taking the wrong boxes. This creates disappointment for the member whose box is missing and lots of after hours work for Farmer Cassie to try and figure out how to fix it all while she is trying to feed and be with her family. Remember, if you go on vacation and send someone in your place, PLEASE make sure you’ve given them all the info they need and make sure they know that the boxes have name labels.
#5: UGM at Epic
If you are an Epic member, I’m sure you know that UGM is coming up. For those weeks, we will be delivering to Sofrito at the Farm Campus. OR you can switch to have your box delivered to Verona or a residential site closer to your home. You can either do this yourself in your Farmigo account or send us a request with the drop sites and specific dates and we will handle it for you.
#6: Born to Corn…
For those EO members that are getting corn for the first time this week, please consider reading last week’s email called Born to Corn so that you can learn about how we harvest corn and what to do if there is a bug at the tip!
