Strawberry, Banana and Spinach Smoothie

Yields1 Serving
 1 large handful of spinach
1/4 cup raw cashews (or 2 tablespoons almond or cashew butter)
1 cup water (or 1 cup milk)
1 large or 2 small bananas (preferably frozen), broken into a couple of pieces
1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
Optional: 1/2 ripe avocado-this will make the smoothie extra creamy (it will not taste like avocado)
1

Put the 1/4 cup raw cashews, water and spinach in a blender. Blend on high until you have a smooth, green liquid (there should be no cashew or spinach pieces). This works best in a powerful blender. If your blender is not very powerful, you may want to use almond butter or cashew butter instead.

2

Turn blender off and add the bananas, strawberries and avocado (if using).

3

Blend on high until smooth.

4

This will make 1 large or two small smoothies.
