Hello, my name is Jared. I am a transplant from the great state of Iowa. After my collegiate days of playing football, I happily stumbled upon Crossroads Community Farm for a summer crew position. I decided to leave after three months because it rained every day that summer. Following the farm gig I did a few Americorps stints around the country dealing with environmental education. COVID hit, I came back to Madison, and Mike and Cassie took me back for the season. I have since become their first official farmer apprentice. They are teaching me so that I can run my own farm one day. This is my 4th season with Crossroads. I average one watermelon per day during melon season and can beat the farm dog, Pepper, in a 15 yard sprint.
